Born in Athens, Aris Argiris studied marketing and languages, saxophone and music theory as well as singing in his hometown with Kostas Paskalis, Frangiscos Voutsinos and Despoina Kalafati.
In 1999 he received the Maria Callas scholarship in Athens and continued his singing studies in Daphne Evangelatos' master class at the University of Music and Theater in Munich.
In June 2023 he made his debut at the Bela Bartok Concert Hall as part of the Müpa Festival Budapest as Wotan in Wagner's Die Walküre under Adam Fischer.
In the 2023/24 season he will continue to appear as Wotan in Die Walküre, this time at the Festspielhaus Neuschwanstein in Füssen under the baton of Lothar Zagrosek as a guest performance by Opera Sofia.
Two Verdi roles follow, Amonasro in Aida at the Felsenreitschule in Salzburg and Jago in Otello at the Staatstheater Darmstadt.
In January he will perform in Loriot's Ring on an evening at the Staatskapelle Weimar, Berliner Philharmonie, Nuremberg Meistersingerhalle, Alter Oper Frankfurt, Stuttgart Liederhalle and Munich Isarphilharmonie.
Very popular in the concert field, Aris Argiris will sing in the following concerts: Tartanis meets Theodorakis at the Theater Freiburg, Vaughan Williams Songs of Travel with the Staatskapelle Weimar under Felix Miltenberg, Opera Gala in the Athens Concert Hall and “Verdi vs. Wagner - Scenes and Arias” in Siegen and at the Theater Iserlohn.
Projects for the 2022/23 season were: Amonasro in Aida at the Chemnitz Theater, Nabucco in St. Margarethen, Wotan in Rheingold at the Braunschweig State Theater, Wotan in Die Walküre at the Budapest State Opera and Germont in La Traviata at the Aalto Theater Essen.
At the Bayreuth Festival he was engaged as the cover for Wotan (Rheingold/Walküre) and Wanderer. There he also sang the role of Telramund in Lohengrin in Wagner for Children.
He appeared as Wotan in Die Walküre at the Chemnitz Opera in 2018.
After permanent engagements in Gelsenkirchen, Dortmund and Bonn, Aris Argiris was a member of the ensemble of the Frankfurt Opera until the 2010/2011 season.
His international career began after guest engagements at Covent Garden as Escamillo in Carmen, at the Arena di Verona as Figaro in Rossini's Il Barbiere di Siviglia and in St. Petersburg as Renato in Verdi's Un ballo in maschera.
Further guest engagements have taken him to: to the opera houses in Athens, Hamburg, Essen, Stuttgart, Leipzig, Berlin, Dresden, Freiburg, Munich, Vienna, St. Gallen, Bern, Stockholm, London, Brussels, Luxenburg, Antwerp-Ghent, Naples, Trieste, Savonlinna, San Diego , Montreal, Lima, Buenos Aires, Tokyo.
With the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra under Z. Mehta he sang Renato, Jago, Escamillo and Mahler's “Kindertotenlieder”.
His previous roles include Don Giovanni, Conte d'Almaviva/Le nozze di Figaro, Figaro/Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Enrico/Lucia di Lammermoor, Escamillo/Carmen, Count Luna/Il Trovatore, Marchese di Posa/Don Carlo, Francesco/ I Masnadieri and Marcello/La Bohème.
In recent years he has become more and more established in the Italian and German dramatic field with roles such as Rigoletto, Amonaso/Aida, Renato/Un ballo in maschera, Germont/La Traviata, Jago/Otello and Scarpia/Tosca as well as the four villains/Les Contes d'Hoffman, Jochanaan/Salome, Wotan/The Rhinegold/The Valkyrie, Wanderer/Siegfried and The Ruler/The Miracle of Heliane.
He worked with conductors such as Z. Mehta, C. Thielemann, M. Zanetti, K. Masur, Y. Kreizberg, G. Kuhn, D. Renzetti, M. Honeck, G. Jenkins, C. Franci, A. Allemandi, P. Lange and C. Rizzi.
With the Württembergische Philharmonie Reutlingen he has recorded Ariadne - Dithyrambos for baritone and orchestra" by Siegfried Matthus and the aria of Holofernes from the Matthus opera Judith on CD (Genuin label).
He appeared as Escamillo in Bizet's Carmen in the first 3-D opera film. The production of this opera was recorded in 2010 at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden London.
In 2002, Aris Argiris won the International Singing Competition of the Schloss Rheinsberg Chamber Opera and sang the title role in Mozart's Don Giovanni. In 2007 he was named Best Young Artist in Greece by the Greek Association of Music.
Since 2016 he has been a professor at the University of the Arts in Berlin.

Im Jahr 2002 war Aris Argiris Preisträger des Internationalen Gesangswettbewerb der Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg und sang die Titelpartie in Mozarts Don Giovanni. 2007 wurde er von der griechischen Vereinigung der Musik als bester junger Künstler Griechenlands ausgezeichnet.
Seit 2016 er ist Professor an der Universität der Künste in Berlin.

Come Escamillo in Carmen ha partecipato ad un film in 3-D ed è stato premiato per l’allestimento del 2010 alla Royal Opera House Covent Garden di Londra.
Nel 2002 Aris Argiris ha vinto al Concorso internazionale di canto Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg che glipermise di debuttare il ruolo di Don Giovanni. Nel 2007 ha ricevuto il premio dalla Associazione greca per la musica come miglior artista della Grecia.
Dal 2016 insegna alla Universität der Künste di Berlino.
